Frequently Asked Questions:
What is cellulite?
Cellulite is a skin condition that affects more than 90% of women. It is the "orange peel" skin most women begin to notice in their 20s. It tends to worsen with age and is related to hormonal variations. Resulting from circulation impairment on a micro level, cellulite is a vicious circle involving abnormal fluid retention in connective tissue and enlargement of fat cells.

Endermologie® is based on one of the oldest forms of massage called skin rolling or “Chua K’a”. It is said that skin rolling was used on Genghis Khans warriors after battle so that the body could recover faster and the warriors could return to battle the very next day. Now we use Endermologie® to address numerous ways to keep the body healthy and beautiful which include flushing trapped fat (cellulite) out of our systems, pushing lactic acid out of our muscles, pumping up our circulation, and increasing lymphatic flow, just to name a few! It’s not a new method, just a new machine and with this machine comes a very consistent and deep massage that no hand can perform. Try it! You’ll be amazed at how your body will respond!
What you’ll see is your clothes getting looser, your skin getting softer and smoother, your energy level increasing and your dimpled cellulite skin retreating. It’s an exciting process that involves both the inside and the outside of your body. Endermologie® will train your body to flush the toxins and requires that you drink a lot of water, eat sensibly and exercise. While one session will affect your body and in some instances clients have told us that they’ve seen a difference, for most people it is suggested that 14-20 sessions will effectively produce the training you will need . And like the skin on your face or your body, you should maintain your progress with a session at least once or twice a month after your initial sessions. Endermologie is something you’ll find addictive. It’s a 30 minute deep massage with real noticeable benefits! Who wouldn’t love that!

Cellulite...
Cellulite is simply fat in the 'subcutaneous" fat layer; a layer of fat that does not respond to diet and excercise, but is regulated by hormones and genetics.
Liposuction does not address this problem.
Endermologie helps to roll out the trapped fat, allowing the fat to be flushed out with other toxins.
Does it hurt? Are there any side effects?
The sensation is similar to a deep massage and most clients find it quite pleasant. The strength of the treatment can be individually adjusted to your comfort level.
Does it hurt? Are there any side effects?
Most clients report a feeling of relaxation and an increase in energy. Since the Lymphatic system is stimulated, it is recommended that you drink at least two liters of water every day during the duration of your treatment in order to aid in elimination of the mobilized fat. Minor temporary bruising may occur.
How long does a session last? Do you just work on my problem areas?
Sessions last an average of 35 minutes. Your problem areas are focused on, but time is given to other areas to stimulate general circulation and elimination.

How many sessions before I see results?
The average women will need 14 to 20 treatments to achieve optimal results. Treatments are generally 35 minutes in duration, twice a week. Once a month follow-up treatments are recommended to maintain results.

Does this treatment work on men also?
Definitely ~ especially for problem areas such as "love handles", stomachs and loose pectoral tissues.

How long do the results last?
For several months up to a few years, depending on age, lifestyle, and hormonal changes. Once-a-month maintenance sessions are recommended after completion of the initial sessions, which maintains the results and keeps the toxins and abnormal fluid from building back up in the connective tissues.
Why are photos taken before and after the session of treatments?
Photos are taken to provide an accurate record of improvements and to help the Endermologie practitioner provide better treatments through comparative analysis.

Do diet and exercise get rid of cellulite?
Since cellulite is a complex problem, it must be addressed from the subcutaneous layer, to act on fluid retention. This fluid retention is abnormal. It is not the kind of fluid you would lose by exercising - it is a combination of fluid and toxins that have built up in the connective tissues. Whereas both diet and exercise affect deep fat, they fail to act on the underlying cause of cellulite in the superficial tissue of your skin. Even women who exercise regularly and follow a low fat-diet may still have cellulite.
Does this replace exercise?
No. In fact, it is highly recommended that you add diet and exercise to the routine you follow while undergoing Endermologie® treatments. In most cases, this improves results. It really works on a different area than exercise ~ which effects the deeper structures, which is why even women who work out often have cellulite.

How long do I have to wait after liposuction or a tummy tuck to receive treatment?
This depends, but usually you can start once the compressive garments come off. However, Endermologie ® is an excellent way to prepare the skin for liposuction or a tummy tuck before surgery ~ allowing for optimal results.

Does the machine tone the skin? Will I lose weight?
You will most likely notice an improvement in skin tone after using the LPG machine. Appearance of stretch marks and loose skin may be improved. It is not a weight loss machine. However, many clients report being able to lose weight, especially fat weight, more easily while using the machine than they ever could before.

How can I self-fix a hangover?
The obvious answer is to not inbibe in the first place. But for those of us that can not resist, keep reading. Accupressure is a helpful way to administer and relieve the tortures of the morning after. We have on our bodies many places that when pressed, stimulate the body's ability to fix itself. One of the things about these points is they hurt. If it doesn't hurt, you're in the wrong place. You can massage these places as long as your fingers hold out or until the pain is gone. Also, make sure the kind of pain that you're feeling is a 'good' pain vs. a 'bad' pain. If it is a 'bad' pain, back off until it feels like a 'good' kind of pain.
The point between the index finger and the thumb is good for headaches. It is also supposed to help with shoulder pain and labor.
Below the base of the skull and on either side of the spine are places that can relieve stress, burnout, exhaustion, insomnia, heaviness in the head, eyestrain, stiff necks, and sore throats.
Points also below the base of the skull in the hollows between the two major neck muscles are particulary good for relieving throbbing headaches, eye pain, dizziness--- assuming you're not still drinking. If you are still drinking- then quit! Wait ntil you're sober to do any of this stuff--- stiff neck, coordination problems (see prior warning), and irritability. You must be concious for this to work.
Points on the lower edge of the rib cage in from the princess lines can take care of nasuea, indigestion and hiccups.
In the area and on the tops of your feet, in the valley between your big and second toes can help with headaches, and hangovers, so massage away!
The point where the bridge of the nose meets the forehead in between the eyes has special properties. Pressing this area not only relieves headaches and indigestion, but also is good for low morale, and helps those who feel their spiritual growth is blocked.
Located in the center of the back of the head in the large hollow under teh base of the skull is a place which relieves hangovers, headaches, stiff necks, head congestion, and mental stress.
For head congestion, burning eyes and bloodshoot or swollen eyes, try this: massage the area located at the bottom of the cheekbone, directly below the pupil. It will most likely be very tender, massage softly at first.

How do I relieve the kink in my neck myself?
If you frequently get tense, tight, crampy spots in your neck muscles, try this stretch. Sit tall in a chair and clasp your hands behind your back. Lift your rib cage and raise your arms up slightly behind you. Gently lower your chin in front and roll it from shoulder to shoulder, ear to ear. Stop at any tight spots and breathe deeply, holding the stretch until you feel the neck tension release. Finally, unclasp your hands and hug yourself to open up the shoulder blades and stretch your upper back.
Finding deeper relaxation by doing the corpse pose:
The simplest and yet the most difficult of all Yoga postures is the corpse posture, also widely known as the dead pose. This posture is the simplest because you don't have to use any part of your body at all, and it's the most difficult precisely because you are asked to do nothing whatsoever with your limbs. The corpse posture is an exercise in mind over matter. The only props you need are your body and mind.
Here is how you do the corpse pose:
1. Lie flat on your back, with your arms stretched out and relaxed by your sides, palms up (or whatever feels most comfortable).
Place a small pillow under your head if you need one and another large pillow under your knees for added comfort.
2. Close your eyes.
3. Form a clear intention to relax.
Some people find it helpful to picture themselves lying in white sand on a sunny beach.
4. Take a couple of deep breaths, lengthening exhalation.
5. Contract the muscles in your feet for a couple of seconds and then consciously relax them.
Do the same with the muscles in your calves, upper legs, buttocks, abdomen, chest, back, hands, forearms, upper arms, shoulders, neck, and face.
6. Periodically scan all your muscles from your feet to your face to check that they are relaxed.
You can often detect subtle tension around the eyes and the scalp muscles. Also relax your mouth and tongue.
7. Focus on the growing bodily sensation of no tension and let your breath be free.
8. At the end of the session, before opening your eyes, make sure you stay relaxed for as long as possible.
9. Open your eyes, stretch lazily, and get up slowly.
Practice 10 to 30 minutes; the longer, the better.
Allowing this posture to end on its own is best — your body knows when it has benefited sufficiently and naturally brings you out of relaxation. However, if you only have a limited time for the exercise, set your mental clock to 15, 20, or however many minutes after closing your eyes as part of your intention. If you need to have a sound to remind you to return to ordinary waking consciousness, make sure that your wristwatch or clock isn't so loud that it startles you and provokes a heavy surge of adrenaline.
If it looks like you're going to fall asleep while doing the corpse posture, try bringing your feet closer together. Also, periodically pay attention to your breathing, making sure it's even and unforced. Catnaps are generally excellent; if, however, you're experiencing insomnia, save your sleep until you go to bed at night. In any case, the benefits of conscious relaxation are more profound than any catnapThe beautiful thing about relaxation is that you are conscious throughout the experience and can control it, to some extent. Through relaxation, you become more in touch with your body, which benefits you throughout the day: You can detect stress and tension in your body quicker and then take remedial action. Also, you avoid the risk of feeling drowsy afterward because you inadvertently entered into a deeper sleep. Remember that sleep is not necessarily relaxing. That's why we sometimes wake up feeling like we've done heavy work in our sleep.
