Before starting your session, your therapist may ask you some questions regarding your medical history, physical condition, lifestyle, etc. to assess any problem areas that you may have.

You will be asked to disrobe in private and drape yourself with a large towel or sheet. You may leave your undergarments on or take them off as you prefer. We can supply you with disposable underwear for your comfort. During your session, your therapist will be sure to respect your privacy. The only area of your body that will be uncovered will be the area that your therapist is working on at that time. Your session will be administered in a peaceful and quiet environment.

You will lie down on a comfortably padded massage table in a position explained to you by your therapist. Your therapist will take a moment to ensure that you are properly positioned, sufficiently covered and most importantly, that you are comfortable. Be sure to inform your therapist of anything that distracts from your comfort such as your position, the room temperature, music selection, lighting, etc...

As your session begins, close your eyes and allow yourself to relax as completely as possible. Focus your attention on your breathing, which should be slow, deep and even. Conversation, as enjoyable as it may be, can also be distracting to your relaxation and to the concentration of your therapist’s efforts. Please try to limit your conversation to feedback about your session.

If at any time during the session your therapist works on an area or uses a technique that you find particularly enjoyable, be sure to let your therapist know. If time permits, extra time can be spent on that area or technique. Your therapist will appreciate your feedback and will know next time to be sure to include extra time for these areas or techniques. Conversely, if at anytime during your session you experience any pain or discomfort of any sort, immediately inform your therapist. Massage therapy, when administered on healthy tissue, is a very pleasurable sensation. In the area of an injury or muscular tension, massage therapy may, at first, cause some discomfort. When your therapist locates these areas on your body, it will be your natural reaction to tense and hold your breath. It is very important that you consciously try to relax these areas and remember to breathe deeply. This will help to lessen any discomfort that you might experience.

Allow your therapist to move your limbs into various positions. Try to go limp, like a rag doll. You do not need to help. Your therapist is trained to take care of your body so all you need to do is relax. Again, this is your time.

Many people fall asleep during their session, an indication that their bodies are letting go of stress and tension. Should you fall asleep, your therapist will gently wake you when it is time to reposition or end the session. Feel free to nap.

After your massage you may want to drink extra water for the next 24 hours to help flush out the toxins released by your session. If at all possible, you may want to take the time to reap the full benefits of your session by taking a nap.

How to have a great session

Don't eat immediately before your session

Be on time. If you arrive in a rush, it will take longer to get into a relaxed state.

Give accurate health information

Report any discomfort whether it's from the session or related to the environment, e.g.room temperature or lighting.

Allow for some open, quiet time after your session.

Quiet your mind by focusing on how the touch of the therapist feels.

Don't get off the table or chair too quickly after the session if you are dizzy.

Drink extra water before and after a session. Bodywork releases toxins from your muscles. Increasing your fluid intake lowers this toxicity and lessens the strain on filtering organs.

Active Release Technique®
Active Release is a state-of-the-art soft tissue system that successfully treats problems with muscles, tendons, ligaments, fascia and nerves. Headaches, back pain, carpal tunnel syndrome, shin splints, shoulder pain, sciatica, plantar fasciitis, knee problems, and tennis elbow are just a few of the many conditions that can be resolved quickly and permanently with Active Release. These conditions all have one important thing in common: they are often a result of overused muscles.

Acupressure
The key to optimal health lies in the body's ability to keep its channels of energy, or Chi, clear and free-flowing. Tension creates tight muscles which, in turn, cause stagnation and blockages throughout the body. It is this stagnation that contributes to a myriad of health conditions, from headaches to arthritis, from immune disorders to chronic back pain or PMS. Acupressure Massage introduces a safe and effective way of releasing those tensions and ultimately preventing more serious conditions. This ancient Chinese art of using finger pressure to stimulate the body's natural healing abilities. The deeply balancing technique will awaken your natural healing ability and contribute to a greater sense of harmony and well-being.

Aromatherapy
A gentle, nurturing, light massage concentrated to benefit the lymph flow throughout the body. This soft tissue pressure point massage is combined with the use of essential oils to promote relaxation and overall well-being.

Audio-Sensory Technique®
A new technique with a rich history developed by Laura Ridgway. AudioSensory Therapy coordinates massage and music, combining the healing power of both to achieve uplift in body and mind.  The auditory and tactile systems are intimately connected. This technique can be seamlessly combined with other techniques.  Like paintings, the art of music evokes different emotions.  By carefully blending the therapists touch and matching the rhythm of the music being played, one can find a deeper sense of calm.  The client not only hears the music, but also feels it through the therapists touch.  The client can subconciously anticipate the therapists next move and because they can anticipate it, clients find they can relax more quickly than other modalities. Clients report they feel their mind letting go and relaxing faster, further building trust with the therapist.

The ability to increase synchronous activity between the two separate senses, and it's ability to drive the nervous system to higher levels of functioning over time, naturally brings with it the potential for some remarkable improvements in cognitive functioning. Learning ability, creativity, problem solving ability, focus and concentration, memory, and intuition are among the areas typically showing improvement.

Barefoot Therapy

Barefoot Therapy is an ancient form of bodywork using the therapists bare feet in compression work which may be combined with other massage modalities such as Swedish, Sports, and Myofascial techniques.

Ayshiatsu Barefoot massage can give the client a deep, relaxing massage without the usual pain associated with deep tissue massage. Soft, clean, bare feet give a rhythmic and deep massage. Overhead parallel bars may be used for the therapist's balance and control.
Bigger than the hand, even pressure is easily applied with the bare foot giving the therapist control on the clients body.

The therapy is not performed on a futon or floor mat with the head turned to the side, but on a massage table with a face cradle. With this therapy, the feet are used in line with standard Western massage fundamentals and anatomy.

Breathing
No one will disagree with the simple fact that oxygen is absolutely crucial to our survival. And in fact, the more good, clean oxygen that we get, the better we think, process food, run, walk, and do all the movements and actions of our everyday life. When our breathing becomes more shallow, we inhibit every one of our daily tasks from being performed as well as they should be. This technique works to help people recognize their own breathing patterns and work to breathe more effectively.

Breakdown of scar tissue
Because surgery is invasive, people will often mentally neglect and even reject the part of the body which was operated on. What this generally means is that people will not touch or even take much notice of the part of the body where they had the operation. What then happens is that the part of the body which was operated on will not be moved much or worked with, and thick scar tissue can develop. This type of massage aims at working to break down the scar tissue, because scar tissue can restrict movement and can also create unnecessary pain.

Cellulite

Cellulite refers to the "cottage-cheese", bumpy look of the thigh and abdominal areas.
More specifically, cellulite refers to a phenomenon where the passage of extended time in an obese state causes fibers to surround and congeal onto fat cells, eventually resulting in a bumpy orange-peel-like appearance of the skin surface.
The main issue with cellulite is that no amount of exercise will comletely eliminate it because every fat cell is surrounded by tough fibers which protect and thus prevent the fat cell from being burned. Since endemology provides a non-surgical treatment of cellulite through external massaging, fat removal and weight-loss can be carried out without the fear of liposuction side-effects such as sagging skin and the reduction of skin-elasticity.

Couple's Massage
Imagine being in the same room face to face sharing the ultimate bonding experience (be it....lovers, friends, mother/daughter). Share this wonderfully relaxing experience with someone you care about.

Deep-Tissue Massage
This massage works on the layers of soft tissue and muscle that lie deep within the body and by using variety of techniques, it can help relieve muscle tension, injury and strain. The focus is to break up chronic patterns of muscle tension so that your muscles can adjust to optimal patterns. Incorporates specific techniques to effectively relieve all layers of muscle affected by chronic pain and tension build up. Great for people who want the benefits of a Swedish massage, combined with a firm hand to work chronic knots.

Endemologie at the New Forme Clinic
Endemologie and endermology is a medical device which provides a non-surgical method of reducing cellulite and fat from other problematic areas, helping to attain and maintain a slim and sexy body-outline.
When this device is used in concert with a liposuction surgical procedure, the patient's post-surgery recovery time is dramatically reduced, and the treatment effects maximized. Although the endemology/endermologie (also referred to as the "Pressure-Sensitive Fat Disintegration Method"), along with liposuction surgery and post-surgical care, will satisfy those looking to attain a perfect body-shape, endemology without liposuction surgery still displays outstanding results in the reduction and removal of cellulite and local fat.

The operation of the endemology/endermologie relies on the principle of suction and rollers.
A suction force applies tension to the skin-structure, while specially manufactured rollers apply continuous contractive and elongative forces on fat cells and connective tissue, aiding in the natural burning of fat, while elastic-fibers in the skin are stimulated, causing an overall increase in the elasticity of the skin.

In addition, stimulation of skin-cells, through vibration caused by the suctional forces, increases the skin's regenerative ability, while increased blood circulation causes excretion of pollutants from the body through sweat and urine.

Endermologie was used initially to treat scars in patients who had suffered burns, to soften the scars and improve elasticity and mobility of the scarred skin. An additional, unexpected benefit was soon noted; an improvement in the appearance of cellulite. Endermologie has been approved by the FDA in the USA. Since being launched there , patients have been queuing up for what has been described as the 'most exciting breakthrough in body contouring since the invention of liposuction by a French surgeon, Dr Y Illouz'. Dr Illouz currently uses Endermologie in conjunction with liposuction, to smooth, tone and decrease post-operative swelling. A number of plastic surgeons are offering Endermologie as an alternative to liposuction , for those patients who feel more comfortable with a non-invasive procedure.

LPG Endermologie® is the newest noninvasive treatment for cellulite. Originally from Europe and now approved by the FDA, this exciting, safe, no-pain treatment can give you dramatic improvement in your hips, thighs, and buttocks. It even works for love handles and sagging abdomens-wherever you have the dimples and cottage cheese of cellulite. Since cellulite is resistant to diet, exercise, and even liposuction, this non-surgical, painless, effective process is truly the best treatment for reshaping and contouring the most difficult areas of your body.

Reservations & Cancellation Policy
The Spa services are very popular. Spa services are available by appointment. All services must be guaranteed with a major credit card to reserve your appointment.  We recommend booking spa reservations in advance and will do everything possible to honor your request and time. Appointments are booked based on availability. We recommend scheduling your appointment as one or two days in advance to ensure availability. To reserve any spa services, we require a credit card or gift certificate or gift card number to guarantee the appointment.

We have a 24-hour cancellation policy: We aim to provide our clients the highest quality service and we pride ourselves on our exceptional staff. If you cancel within less than 24 hours of your scheduled appointment, we not only loose your business, but also the potential business of other clients who could have taken your scheduled appointment time. For this reason we are still obligated to compensate our staff for their time as well as make up for our lost revenue.

When we reserve the therapist’s time especially for you, please give us at least 24 hours notice to avoid paying the full value of the service for any cancellations or re-scheduling to a later time or date. If you are moving your appointment earlier and we can accommodate your request there will be no charge. Because we may turn people away for the time we hold for you, the cancellation policy still applies even if you are making the appointment for the same day.

Because spa treatments are reserved for you, you must notify us at least 24 hours in advance if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment.

No-shows and same-day appointment cancellations less than 24 hours will be charged the full value of the treatment reserved, and/or any gift card associated with that appointment will count as services rendered and forfeited. If you are cancelling an appointment that you've also previously rescheduled with less than 24 hours notice - you will be charged full price.

This insures all other guests the opportunity to enjoy our services. A cancellation confirmation number will be given to you as your proof of exactly when your appointment was cancelled or changed.

A cancellation confirmation number will be given to you as your proof of exactly when your appointment was cancelled or changed.

But, we're reasonable. We understand that emergencies "come up." Therefore, we only charge 50% of the services that would have been rendered and only if we cannot find another client to fill your slot. However, if you fail to appear for your appointment without attempting to cancel your appointment beforehand, a full fee is charged to your credit card for missed appointments that are reschedule or canceled less than 24 hours or 48 hours on spa packages. This is why we require a credit card from you to guarantee your reservation.

Gift Certificate or Gift Card Return Policy:
Unfortunately, we are unable to process any returns or reimburse any payment transactions on gift certificates or gift cards, if lost or expired.

Late Arrivals:
We regret that late arrivals will not receive an extension of scheduled service times & you will be responsible for full service fees.

Jewelry:
We suggest you arrange for your valuables prior to your visit with us. Do not put your jewelry into tissues or on the table.
